Stained
Glass Classes
Why
not learn to make stained glass yourself? Alan Robinson runs weekly
classes at the Braeport Centre in Dunblane.
The
classes are suitable for both beginners and those who have previous
experience in
making stained glass.
New session starting Wednesday 25th January for 10 weeks.
7.30-9.30pm - Braeport Centre, Dunblane
The classes are in a block of 10, but you can
join at any time. All the equipment you need is provided. A range of materials are available -
glass, lead, solder, etc. which is paid for as you use it.
I will give
you a list of stained glass suppliers, so that you can easily buy your own materials and access a wider range of stock.
Cost of classes: £10 per class = £100 plus materials used. Payment is usually made at the first session. Materials are paid for as they are used.
Support and tuition is provided in
leaded glass and copper foil
techniques, supplemented by helpful handouts. A lively, friendly
atmosphere makes the classes an enjoyable social event! Most students
work with their own designs, but a range of designs are available. You
do not need to be artistically gifted, but perseverence and a practical
approach are useful.
Students have made a wide range of glass items such as, light
catchers, decorative mirrors and
larger leaded panels. Examples of student
work are shown at the bottom of this page. During June this year, the
class held an exhibition of work at the Braeport Centre, which was very
successful and presented an impressive and varied display of glass
artwork.
